about
As both a writer and a booker I loathe reading most band bios. Cliché genre descriptors, E.P.Ks. Ex-members of Ramblings, Self-Important Posturing, and useless lists of trite bands that you’ve played with. Good music simply sounds out for itself. Seattle’s Know Your Saints isn’t bullshittin’. Raw and rife with conviction, the trio plays pop-infused punk in perfectly imperfect form; it’s gritty, aggressive, unpolished, and satiated with jagged hooks. Forget about Northwestern sweater-clad indie rock drollery. These dudes pay homage to the East Bay’s golden era of punk, tap into classic raucous Midwestern discontent, and still manage to hold their own. There’s real energy here. These songs get into the veins and warm the blood. Listening, you can’t help but feel like there’s a little common ground in the good old human condition. In word and sound, this shit resonates. However, reading this is likely boring you and what the fuck do I know... Go crank er’ up and decide for yourself. Think R.I.Y.L. Samiam, Jawbreaker, Seaweed, The Replacements, Lawrence Arms, Pegboy, The Wipers.
